The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (SAWMPO) invites the public to provide input on potential transportation projects that will shape the region’s future through 2050. The map along with other opportunities to engage is now available at https://connect.cspdc.org/sawmpoLRTP.

Building on strong community engagement from Phase I, which gathered input from 284 community members about transportation priorities including pedestrian safety, bike infrastructure, and public transit, Phase II now invites residents to weigh in on specific proposed projects and areas of study that will shape the region’s transportation future through 2050.

The SAWMPO also invites community members to share their thoughts on the proposed projects by attending any of the following open house meetings:

  • Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Staunton YMCA
    708 N Coalter St, Staunton, VA 24401
  • Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Stuarts Draft High School
1028 Augusta Farms Rd, Stuarts Draft, VA 24477
  • Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Waynesboro YMCA
    648 S Wayne Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980

The meetings will be open house style, and community members are welcome to drop by at any time during the two-hour period. Children and families are welcome. Those unable to attend the meetings in person are encouraged to provide feedback through the interactive map at https://connect.cspdc.org/sawmpoLRTP.

Additional comments and feedback can be submitted by contacting the SAWMPO (CSPDC) at 540-885-5174 or emailing Garreth Bartholomew (garreth@cspdc.org) for additional information.
