The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (SAWMPO) Policy Board approved Draft 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) at their December 2, 2020 meeting. The LRTP identifies potential projects for funding over a 25-year period. The document must be updated every five years to meet federal tranportation requirements.
The primary outcome of the 2045 LRTP is the Constrained Long Range Plan (CLRP), which identifies the prioritized transportation projects recommended to receive state and federal funding over the next 25 years. The update process began in March 2019, and included two public engagement phases. The public engagement process is described in Chapter 2 of the report, and all public and resource agency comments received during the planning period are documented in Appendices D and E.
