The Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT) is developing the Statewide Rail Plan (SRP) projects, policies, and initiatives that will guide future growth and development in Virginia.

DRPT’s recently conducted a public survey on the feasibility of instituting cross-state intercity passenger rail service linking Hampton Roads, Richmond, and the New River Valley, also known as the Commonwealth Corridor. The public input will assist with guiding development of the plan.
