The Woodrow Wilson Complex short-term improvements project will enhance operational and safety conditions, particularly during morning and afternoon peak-traffic times at the entrance to the Woodrow Wilson Complex in Fishersville at Woodrow Wilson Avenue and Route 250. The complex is the only site entrance of an elementary, middle and high schools, a regional technical education center, the state rehabilitation and workforce training center, some residential development, and county-owned offices and maintenance facilities. The peak morning queue extends up to a half-mile along Route 250 east of the intersection.
The project will add a free-flowing right-turn lane from westbound Route 250 into the Wilson Complex. This improvement includes a concrete triangular median on Route 250 to separate the right turn from the rest of traffic.
A design public hearing is being held for this project both in-person and online:
In-person: Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Wilson Elementary School, 127 Woodrow Wilson Ave., Fishersville, VA 22939.
