VDOT and the City of Waynesboro are working on improvements along US 250 between Hopeman Parkway and the western city limits. The project will replace the center turn lane with raised medians that allow left turns only at designated median openings. Most of the commercial access driveways and side streets will be restricted to right turns in and out. The restricted turning movements will reduce crashes onto West Main Street.
The improvements are based on a 2020 corridor study: Waynesboro and Augusta County – Route 250 Corridor Improvement Study
