The Staunton-Augusta-Waynesboro Metropolitan Planning Organization (SAWMPO) invites the public to attend a series of public input meetings for the 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP). The LRTP identifies regional transportation needs over a 25-year period. Meetings are scheduled at the following locations and events:
• Staunton Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Wharf Parking Lot, Staunton
• Waynesboro Farmers’ Market on Saturday, September 21, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at the Pavilion in Constitution Park, Waynesboro
• Virginia Chili Festival on Saturday, September 28, from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in Waynesboro
• Augusta County Library, Tuesday, October 8, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at 1759 Jefferson Highway, Fishersville
A table with information about the Plan will be at each event. The public is encouraged to give opinions and comments about future regional transportation needs to staff either orally or in writing. Information about the 2045 Plan is available at: www.sawmpo.org/long-range-plan
